About Dan
My journey in building construction began when I was 14 and worked with my Dad tuckpointing homes on the south side of Chicago. At 20 I began the 4 year union apprenticeship that culminated with receiving my Journeyman Carpenter certificate. I worked in residential and commercial construction for several years before forming my own construction business specializing in remodeling historic homes in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. I also spent three decades in the Chicago Fire Department with two years as an arson investigator.
In the fire service one motto is 'the home is your enemy, know your enemy'. I've seen the built environment from many angles and under many conditions. I've also inspected somewhere around 10,000 buildings over the last quarter century as a home inspector. I'd love to put that hard won knowledge to work for you during your next property purchase.
